New hyper-local websites by accelerated e-journalism students launched
The Accelerated E-journalism class of 2009 released their new hyper-local publications in June covering a wide range of topics. The subject areas cover arts, sports, sustainable living, social justice and outdoor living. Students could choose from a thematic or geographic approach. Some even decided to do both. Using either Blogger.com or Wordpress, the students created their own publications, which they can continue to publish after leaving the college. The students also used social media to enhance their publications and grow their audience.
